The dust has settled and the celebrations have died down, slightly, but the MVPs from Sunday’s dramatic victory over the Gloucestershire Gladiators can now be revealed!

Offensive MVP - RB George Salter #28

In his first game since playing Nottingham Trent at home late last year, the train made a thundering return to the Royals side. Scoring one of Worcester’s six touchdowns Salter made positive yards every time he carried the ball, puncturing big holes in the Gladiator's defense.

“We all know the capabilities of this guy but returning to play today he combined speed, power and agility to gain numerous yards,” said Head Coach Stuart Andrew. “He was a constant threat Gloucester couldn't cope with, at times it took 4 or 5 guys to bring him down.”

Defensive MVP - CB Ross Stephenson #42

Ross, following his move to cornerback late in the season, has been a standout performer of late and he continued this on Sunday. Targeted numerous times by the Gloucestershire quarterback Stephenson held strong, breaking up countless pass attempts, using his height and speed to halt the opposition attack.

“Ross finally played a full game after dealing with various injuries and ailments throughout the season but who was damn near perfect today,” said Defensive Coordinator Josh Chambers. “It's been a pleasure to watch him develop all year. The giraffe himself, Ross Stephenson.”

Special Teams MVP - WR/K Joe Tate #85

It was a perfect performance from Joe slotting 6 out of 6 kicks whilst also being a prominent figure on kickoff. The third year player showed a cool head when under pressure with his kicking being a huge part of the Royals winning efforts.

“With a perfect 6 from 6 on PATs Joe had a great day with the boot.” Said Stuart Andrew. “I'm sure he'd be quick to thank the best holder in the league, Matt Cole, for allowing him to get the kicks off.”
